Creating a custom look for any project starts with an idea, fabric, thread, trims and a stitch. With the Patented Dual Wiper System, the Wide and Narrow Cover Stitch are transformed from being used to hem to so much more. Starting with the essentials, ribbon, and decorative thread the Wide and Narrow Cover Stitch become the ideal couture stitch to take a simple dress from the rack to the runway.

Artisan Stitch

Like an artist who uses canvas and paints, a sewist creates art using fabric, threads, cording, and a stitch. Creative Top Cover Stitch and Chain & Cover Stitch Options

Once again, Baby Lock sets the standard and revolutionizes your sewing experience! The Applaud’s Creative Top Cover Stitch has expanded both functional and creative opportunities when using the Cover and Chain Stitches.

Dual Wiper System for the Creative Top Cover Stitch

Watch the Applaud’s patented dual wiper system deliver thread back and forth in front of the needles and over the fabric surface to create the Creative Top Cover Stitch. Choose to thread both wipers or only one wiper for the selected stitch.

Needle Up/Down Function

Whether using the Needle Up/Down key to advance forward in the fabric, start on fabric, form a single or partial stitch, or program the needle(s) to stop in the down or up position this feature allows you precise positioning of the needle(s) at all times during a project.

Thread Cutter

The thread cutter is located on the left side of the machine. At the end of a seam, sew off the fabric edge and continue sewing creating a 5 to 6 inch (120-150mm) thread chain. Bring the thread chain up and pull forward into the thread cutter.

Magnetic Needle Storage

Conveniently located in the middle of the machine is a magnetic needle rest that prevents needles from rolling around and getting lost.

Front Table Seam Guide

The markings on the bed of the machine can be used as guides while sewing.

Combination Foot

The combination foot on the Applaud is different from the standard shank and presser foot found on most sergers. Due to the wipers being integrated into the presser foot the shank and presser foot are combined to form one unit.

Wipers

The wipers on the Combination Foot (foot and shank) form the Creative Top Cover Stitch. These wipers help form the unique stitches this machine is capable of sewing.
